IDCam

IDCam is our must-have product for an easy-to-use finish backup system to all kinds of mass-sporting events

ALGE-Timing together with dbnetsoft developed a finish camera backup solution in addition to the ALGE OptiC2 linescan photofinish camera. The IDCam software proved to be extremely useful, therefore it is now also available as a standalone product for sale.

Overview

The main purspose is to provide a reliable but simple backup to determine the order of finish for various sporting events. A compatible camera (recommended are Axis cameras) is positioned after the finish line facing the finish line. The camera is connected to a computer running IDCam showing realtime images from the finish line. Therefore the timing could also take place with no direct line of sight to the finish area, as you have the video from camera. These images from the finish line are only recorded every time a lightbeam is crossed, a pre- and post-record time can be specified for recording earlier and also longer than the length of the impulse. In case a transponder system is used, it's passings are overlayed with the image from the camera. By using quick and easy keyboard shortcuts, and operator can browse through all available lightbeam impulses during the competition and check for missing passings - when having a picture with no passing, then the transponder was not detected and the bib number and time can be easily read from the IDCam software. So broken or missing transponders can be spotted right after the finish crossing. Usually an operator only sits in front of the IDCam software and uses the arrow keys to jump from lightbeam impulse to impulse, searching for missing detections.
